Well, it was SUPPOSED to be his 12 month appointment, but I'm Mother Of The Year and forgot about it (it was the morning we left to go up north, so other things were on my mind), and once I rescheduled, they were booked weeks in advance.
Anyway, it went well. The rundown: Porter weighs 20lbs 4oz (5%) and is around 29inches tall (25%) (this is debatable, as she measured him once and I swear it said 27in. and then came back in and said she needed to measure him again b/c he was "wiggly". Now, back at his 9 mo. appt he was supposedly 29 inches, but in March, Heather and I stood a yardstick up to him and he was 27 inches. So, who the hell knows). The doctor was a little concerned at his weight, as he's usually in the 25-50th percentile for both weight and height. He's been around 20lbs for the last 5 months or so, but since he had been sick about a week ago, she's assuming he just lost some weight.
I felt like such a good mom during the appointment (after I got over the guilt of being 15 min late and the nurse pretty much rubbing that in my face).
The doctor seemed surprised that he eats a ton of fruits and veggies each day. She pretty much said "Try to make sure he's eating some fruits and veggies each day" and I told her "Well, thats pretty much what his diet consists of! He gets fruit for breakfast, and at least one fruit and veggie for both lunch and dinner. He loves his fruits and veggies. He chows broccoli like is going out of style, same with fruits!"
And she was thrilled to hear he doesn't get juice. She was starting to tell me to limit his juice, and that its just full of empty calories and sugar when I told her he really doesn't get juice at all. He drinks water all day other than meals and when he wakes up/before bed.
And then she asked if he was standing, and if he walked (uh, for the last 5 months!). And she asked if he had a few, 5 or 6, words he used, and I told her he had about 20 or more words he can say (of course, not on cue!).
However, the downer was when I got knocked down a few points because my kid can't use a spoon???? LOL. I try to NOT let him use one HAHA! More food ends up on my floor that way HAHA!
So, I guess for "my records" I'll post all Porter's new things here, since I haven't done that all too much lately. (and for those of you mom-bloggers, I tried to convince Leslie that this blog has been SO awesome to be able to look back on and read Porters development. Seriously, you FORGET... you don't think you will, but you do. I can't tell you how many times Les or Jess has asked about things pertaining to their infants and I had to say "Let me go check my blog" LOL)

- He throws tantrums now. Ugh.
- He gets into EVERYTHING. I swear, I did not know it'd be this bad. I can't clean the house when he's awake. Its impossible. I leave for work in the morning and the house looks like a tornado hit it (I have got to take a picture next week...you'd die)
- He loves to be thrown on the bed. THROWN, from like 4 feet away from the bed.
The other day I was on the couch emailing some clients back, checking blogs etc (ok, otherwise, ignoring my child), and I realized I heard this weird, squeaky noise coming from behind me. I kept hearing it, but couldn't be pried from the computer of course. Finally, I hopped up and look what I found...
Porter had climbed up onto the footstool and was totally mouth slobbering the window, and was sliding his face ALL over the window... back and forth. Back and forth. (the squeaky noise).
Check out the slobber left behind...
Ok, that has got to be the funniest thing I've seen all day! Thank you for that laugh! I totally see Olivia doing that pretty soon too, as she is into EVERYTHING....Too funny!!
