I love capturing moments like this... moments of a child on the brink of becoming a big kid, yet still holding on to those baby habits. So precious.

More to peek at... if you caught my last post with Maria's teasers, lucky you. I had to pull them down, though, as I had proofed them on my laptop and they were not looking too good. I'll be redoing those images on my desktop this week.
So, onto my session today... My Urban Kids today were so much fun! The weather was perfect today. Lately its been rainy and cold in the morning, and the afternoons have been so warm and sunny. Lucky for us!
Miss "A" had just turned 2, and boy was she TWO! She was on the go and she sure made me work. She had the most gorgeous dark chocolate eyes (which were a stark contrast to big brother's baby blues!). She was totally into her "boo" (blankie), her daddy, and the cell phone. How typical of a little girl. She was absolutely sweet.
And big brother, Mr. "A" was a handsome little guy. I can't believe how many gorgeous blue eyes I've been able to photograph lately. I am having such a hard time converting any of his pictures to black and white because his eyes are so stunning! Mr "A" was a perfect gentleman, very cooperative and even a little reserved. I asked him to SCREAM for me... to try to loosen him up and he came back with.... "aaaahh??" Haha! I had to show him how it was done. Good thing downtown was pretty empty today!
That's it for now. I'm pretty sure I'll be back with more from this session... there are just too many good ones to hold back!

"M" was my first Urban Child, and can I just say... WOW. He has THE most gorgeous blue eyes. Such a little doll. His daddy is a fireman, so we got a few shots of him in his dads turnout gear. This was probably one of my shortest session ever, but with Michigan being uncooperative on the weather front (It was about 30 degrees today!), there really wasn't anything we could do about it. M was quite the trooper in the cold. T and M... I promise, I got some great shots to show you. Our session was short, but you're going to be thrilled.

For a limited time only I am going to put out a great offer. The weather is just getting warmer, and many people don't realize that you CAN have a successful session even when its not green and flowery outside. Downtown is one of my favorite places for sessions, and I am lacking sessions with kids at these locations.
For the Urban Child Sessions I am looking for children ages 3-8, girls and boys, with trendy style (think Gap Kids.. but not necessarily Gap brand clothing). Sessions will be held in downtown Jackson (or Lansing, Chelsea, Ann Arbor if that is where you live, however travel charges may apply). I will be using available architecture, artwork, and buildings for backdrops. Don't worry... these sessions are going to be unique, fun and creative!

I found a new spot to do pictures in my house. It requires a little disassembling of my picture collages on the wall... but I kind a like it...
